Great idea, will add it to the list I'm building. Sounds like you should also start a website or blog on the subject! Seriously - a site with your designs and tips could be a nice little earner and will help you get into the business mindframe.

You can easily start your first blog at wordpress.com - its free too. Just putting your ideas and tips together will be a huge help in organising the materials you'll need when you do those classes.

As for the classes, try some 'dummy runs' first with some friends and family to see what kinds of little problems and questions arise before you go live. Then when you're ready try the real thing put a notice in local papers, shop windows, community notice boards to see what the take up rate is, then you can widen the net to neighbouring suburbs papers as necessary.

Good luck

I am looking to start a business of teaching sewing to adults and children.I am a certified sewing instructor for Kids can Sew.I also have all the teaching aids from Palmer/Pletsch teaching systems.I am a qualified adult tutor, and have nearly 40 years exp:behind me.Worked in the clothing trade and made my own childrens and others clothes and home furnishings.I also make wedding dresses, patterns, and designe.
To start off I was thinking of running small classes at home for adults,I will be able to run a one day course
how to make a skirt in a day,and so on.
I am good at what I do,but do not have a good business head. This is where I need help

Thank you
