I have said before that affiliate marketing is a great way to get a taste for online marketing in general. I have been doing affiliate marketing quite successfully since 2000 and have no intention of giving it up anytime soon. In fact I’m currently drafting a new website dedicated to the subject.
Affiliate marketing is simply the activity of promoting other peoples products or services in return for a reward. The reward can be a fixed dollar amount per sale or may be a percentage of all initial sales plus any recurring or upsell transactions. There are numerous legitimate affiliate programs available to the budding affiliate from the well known Amazon type programs to the lesser known ones run by individual merchants.
There’s plenty of bull to wade through when you start looking into this rewarding little activity and plenty of sites looking to charge you for their own interpretation of the correct ways to go about your affiliate marketing business. Most are really offering compendiums of info you can find for yourself if you know where to look. Many of these guides are useful in that the info is at least structured into a formatted and indexed document you can keep handy so I’m not saying they are all worthless – just that they’re not necessarily original or up to date!
There is however one recommendation I would like to make. It’s not a one-off guide but a whole system of constantly updated information complete with tutorials, videos, research tools, analysis tools, even free web hosting but most cool of all (for me anyway) a private forum where you will find info not discussed elsewhere. There is even one-on-one support though you probably won’t need it if you just share your problem on the forum!
If there is one user-friendly resource worth spending money on then in my view it is this one. The monthly subscription may seem a drag when you are starting out but it becomes insignificant compared to the money you can make using the advice here.
Having waded through more crap than you would believe I’m very happy to give this club a big thumbs up, that’s because I continue to learn more there than from any other source.
