If you are using eBay as a sales channel for your work from home business be aware you can be subject to several different fee structures and some country specific eBay sites are much cheaper than others. For example just this week eBay USA announced a cut in fees and many sellers in Australia and the UK are confused as to how this impacts on them.
It comes down to which particular eBay you signed up to but some sellers have forgotten or did not realise they were signing up to ebay.com instead of their local eBay! Others have signed up for several eBay sites to expand their international sales but its thought most of those would be professional enough to have a handle on how the various eBay sites operate.
As an example of the differences in fees, user of eBay in Australia pay 5.25% of the closing price plus an additional amount if the closing price is over $75. Users of eBay in the US however pay 9% but have the fee capped at $50.
